Adolf de Herz (Hertz)

Adolf Edmund George de Herz, sometimes spelled as Hertz or Herț, was a Romanian playwright and publicist, literary journalist, poet, short story author, actor, translator.

Adolf Herz was the son of Edgar von Herz and Maria (née Kereszteyi). He was the descendant of a Jewish family, assimilated into the Romanian culture, from the nobility, with roots in Austria-Hungary.

He was married to Lilly Tănăsescu, soprano, operetta performer and daughter of the Craiova actor Ion Tănăsescu.

He was born in Bucharest on December 15, 1887.
He died in Bucharest on March 10, 1936.
